This is Becky. She is the cat that lives at the bakery and waits by the gallery door for us to open it in the morning.

She is not interested in being social she is awaiting us so she can take her post outside the bird’s room at the far end of the gallery. She enters and saunters through to the back wall where she jumps up on the writing ledge and sleeps next to the door where the b i r d s are . . .

They are our soundtrack, the many birds calling, chirping and dancing in their lovely room looking out on the river and adds a specialness to our days there.

So, parrots, budgies, zebra finches and a cat keep us company, oh and there were some dogs that dropped in to visit, although I cannot remember all of their names, but the parrots would come and hang upside down on their screen door taunting them when they came close . . .

Every season, various artists rent the gallery space that sits one floor above the artist’s co-op.
