I have watched the new leaves and blossoms with rich attention, perhaps because of my own reawakening . . .

Immunotherapy is over. My body simply could not accept the drug. We tried adjusting the dose. Last Friday the decision was made to stop treatment.
I was living with a quiet sadness, the shadows of depression but in the release has come joy, a pure appreciation to be free to live . . .
I am finishing things. Assembling and reassembling, lost in the quiet hours of bringing each piece to completion. A slow deliberate thoughtful detailed peaceful (hopefully graceful) path of seeing things through to where they want to go.

I have been creating work for two group shows. I will post the work next Saturday June 28th as the first show opens, and again July 12th for the second one, this will be the addition of a few small characters I am still working on . . .
The work will be available online and at the beautiful gallery space upstairs at the LaHave Bakery.

“12 Hands” is a reunion of the artist’s group of last year. June 28th through July 10th.
The work I have completed for this collection is very special for me. It holds not just my studio process during these many months, but elements of my years of creating. Some of the pieces were started and left waiting “to be completed” and others are assemblages using treasured faces that have been waiting for my focus and attention.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

“The leaf has a song in it” is a line from a poem by Mary Oliver.
Here I will add a few small delicate pieces made during the many months of ups and downs, they will arrive for this song, this story, and this show . . . tender and sweet.

There is a special pleasure showing with other artists and I cherish the chance to show up with and for one another.
Life is rich with the t i m e of wellness I have come into.
