I have entered a time of in between . . .

In between is my description for where I find myself. Noticing, waiting and learning patience.

The little black spot in my lung held more than expected and now we wait to learn what that means and what comes next.

Fragility is once again a word I am thinking a lot about.

I feel the preciousness of all that I have experienced in my life and know I will work thoughtfully with all of this once I am strong enough. For now, walking, words and a few scribbles and stitches hold me together . . .

I am quiet when I am not struggling which is reassuring as things find their natural order.

I have just published an on-line class (something I made during my breast cancer treatments which many of you have done or seen) called “Making Little Foxie” It is on the NIADA website and is a set of tutorials and demonstrations for making a simple foxie figure.

Here is the link: https://www.academy.niada.org/courses/kc-littlefoxie

I have one final section still to complete and add: the stand up piece (how appropriate). I will add this last part as soon as I am well enough !

In my in person classes this year, the main theme was storytelling and finding your personal spark, the first classes were invigorating and inspiring . . . these shared experiences I love and appreciate and always find very rewarding.

They are on hold for now, so in the spirit of keeping the journey alive, I have started to write and create a few old and new stories I have always hoped to “get around to”. In this, my in between time, I hope some thoughtful new work will emerge . . .

Hoping you will join me and create something of your own. Figurative expression is such a wonderful vehicle for reflecting on life.

Here’s to the next months of quietly discovering and creating . . .

    Wonderful Kate –

You had more impact on my life than you know.  You taught a class in Albuquerque in April 2014 which made me completely smitten with you, your joy, contagious goodness and enthusiasm, and of course your amazing art.  I think of you and your class often, and continue to this day, to rave about you and your art to all who will listen.  You have been an inspiration.  Thank you.

How very sad that you have had to deal with serious health problems, but glad that you are now on to the healing part and have a good support system.  And what a model you are for how to weather the storms of it all!  You make us all braver.  I so wish for your speedy return to health with tons of energy and great happiness.
